These are exciting times for the Indian economy; an impressive economic growth has resulted in an explosion in the growth of requirements of skilled manpower in every field. In order to improve good governance, it is necessary that internal strengths of the manpower in the government is improved. With this in view, a new one year Diploma in Government Accounting and Internal Audit has been started at NIFM. The programme is approved by All India Council for Technical Education. The objectives of this programme are to:

 

  • upgrade the technical skills of Senior Accounts Officers/ Accounts Officers/Assistant Accounts Officers in the areas of Accounting, Internal Audit, Information Technology and enhance general managerial ability;
  • enable them to apply the above in their spheres of work; and
  • improve their soft skills such as communication, presentation and ability to work in group.
  • The duration of the program is one year. The program begins on 1st June, 2009 and will conclude on 28th May, 2010. The program is divided into three terms as given below:

Orientation

  1. One week (1-5 June 2009) orientation will include the following activities:

  4. Familiarity with use of computers, Internet etc.
  5. Appreciation – towards Research and Presentation Skills
  6. Working in Groups

  2. Quantitative Analysis for Managerial Applications
  3. Information Systems for Managers
  4. Financial Management
  5. Internal Audit Activity—its role in Governance, Risk and Compliance
